SOLAR Project at the WWTF
3908 Mary Avenue
The OPUD solar project at the Olivehurst wastewater treatment plant came online in July of 2012. The 5-acre facility produces approximately 840 kilowatts of electricity or about 1800 megawatt hours per year. The system incorporates 5,253 photo voltaic modules.
The estimated value of the power produced is $321,663 per year. The system is a ground mount tracking solar system, which means the panels rotate with the position of the sun to maximize production. OPUD estimates is will save $2.8 million in electricity costs over the next 20-years of Olivehurst wastewater solar array operation.
The solar array at the OPUD main office at 1970 9th Avenue begins construction September 22, 2012
